CWAC, a non profit organization, relies on the generosity of its players, the community and their own committee members to help defray some of the expenses associated with the three State Amateur Championships, the Seniors, Juniors and State. Entry fees are kept to a minimum, so as not to be an obstacle to talented and enthusiastic women golfers who wish to compete for a state amateur title, thus leaving the committee to look elsewhere for funding.

This Spring we were fortunate to have the support of the SALINAS MEMORIAL HEALTH CARE SYSTEM. Their generous donation went towards providing a heart-healthy lunch at the awards ceremony for the Senior State Amateur held at Corral de Tierra in May.

Then, for the first time in CWAC history we had raffle. Five golf courses in the Monterey, California area donated greens fees and a cart for 2. The drawing was held at the reception for the California Senior Women’s Amateur Championship and the winner was Nancy Sartor from Sacramento. We want to thank BAYONET/BLACKHORSE, CORRAL DE TIERRA, POPPY HILLS, QUAIL LODGE and TEHAMA COUNTRY CLUB for their generosity and continuing support of CWAC and women’s amateur golf.

We need your help now and are making a plea to you, to give what you can, so the committee for the California Women’s Amateur Championships can continue to enhance women’s amateur golf by providing the venue and opportunity for women from any financial background to compete for a state amateur title.
